Developer Updates: Developer Blog #3 (14th March 2014)

Client Team

The client team have had a busy week so far. As of now, there are 3 major areas of focus which are currently being worked on. The main focus is a set of server updates which will happen over the next few days. After that the team will be working on finishing up alliances and tactics.

Other areas of focus involve the tweaking and changing of the HUD, transitions to and from the E.C.H.O found on the bridge and lastly the addition of particle effects to a display which I am not allowed to talk about just yet.

Server Team

The memory leak which was discovered a while back is still giving us a bit of a headache. At the moment we have reduced the leak and the servers are performing much better. The leak hasn’t been completely fixed, but this is a high priority and we hope to have it fixed as soon as possible.

Population is now mostly persistent and the expansion of the CP system is also in the works. Many bugs have been squashed over the last few days, and we are constantly working on removing as many as possible before the next big update.

We also have a new face here at Taitale Studios. Our newest developer Chris, is currently working on database versioning and serializing server updates, which will make our lives a lot easier.

Art Team.

Our art team have been hard at work getting out the new HUDs and UIs for the bridge monitors. They are also making a large amount of assets which will be used within the bridge. The detailing of the floor, walls and pillars within the bridge are also coming along nicely.

We will be throwing more concept art and Work in Progress in-game images your way very soon. So keep an eye on our Facebook page over the next few days if you would like to see what we have been getting up to.
