Well then they better at least have contests were the users get to design new skins.

in that case there is absolutely no way to tell players apart. honestly we would not charge for that we do not even want to have a cash shop at all. BUT we very possibly just may not include it because it could honestly really mess up the game at times like in a massive mega battle no one would be able to tell any one apart. personally i would rather put together a simpler designer using a very basic editor and have my alliance all with that so we can easily see who is us and who is not rather then there being a 50% chance in a big battle that i cannot tell who is who.

also keep in mind we need to prioritize work we have 2 programmers building one of the largest most complicated MMOs to date so something like player designed skins unfortunately moves down the list of priority's with things like balance and stability and fun game play are a priority.

I don't think anyone has answered this yet. It means you don't have to pay for certain parts of the game after you buy and pay monthly subscription.

For example Lord of the Rings Online is free to play but by the time you get to level 20 (it's a RPG) you have to pay to unlock the next set of quests and so forth.

In context of Novus Aeterno - you won't have to pay for access to any of the races or campaigns or anything like that.

At the moment we are working on a F2P model.

for the comments on downloading skins etc, a past game's solution was to have the client request 'needed' skins on demand, then you only download a small icon sized file from a server on the side, not disrupting the busy game servers, along with a setting in game menu to turn off custom textures completely and use defaults

with a quiet background request, players wouldnt notice the difference, and no sitting to predownload for people you'll never meet, with less downloads happening it may satisfy your desires of regulating the quantity, and letting players report bad skins is fine IMO, nearly every game follows that line of though

Novus Aeterno was going to be subscription based, but the publishers want us to be F2P; as such, we are currently working on a F2P model. More information will be released at a later date.
