Developer Updates: Developer Blog #34 - This Weeks Changes

Happy holidays everyone!

This is Sypheria. (From the forums and streams) From now on I will be taking over the Developer Blogs to give everyone more accurate and up-to-date information. My week ends on Sunday so the blog will go up Mondays from now on.

We would like to remind everyone that the Live server is our current focus. As such Infiltrator has been taken offline and the patcher for it has been cleared. For those who have not yet installed, the game can be downloaded from the following links for KS backers and paypal backers:

This Past Week 

This past week we have been trying to find a major bug; in the process we found many minor bugs and crashes on both the server and client which have been fixed. We had wished to have full persistence working by now but that bug took up all our time. We will be rolling out persistency this week.

Game Changes 

  • Because the tutorial didn’t work for this version of the game, it’s checkbox has been completely removed.
  • The CP limit has been raised to 50,000 from 30,000.
  • Cycles are now 5 minutes instead of 30 seconds. (3 months pass every cycle)
  • Finally the cycle counter is now a bar graph; the cycle ends when the bar fills.

What’s Next? 

This week I will be concentrating on full persistence and possibly make a Military Academy to train troops as opposed to the Planetary Outpost; this will make building up population on new planets easier.
